Pelvic Health Physical Therapy
Female pelvic PT in Birmingham, AL provided in the privacy of your home, including services for urinary incontinence, pregnancy and post-partum pelvic floor issues, general pelvic pain, diastasis recti, pubic symphysis pain, constipation, pelvic organ prolapse, painful sex and more.
What is Pelvic Health Physical Therapy?
Pelvic Health PT involves the assessment and treatment of pelvic floor muscle dysfunction to help retrain the pelvic floor muscles to function properly. These muscles are involved with pelvic and spine support, internal organ support, the passage of urine and feces and play a crucial role in intercourse.
Natural treatment methods include exercise, muscular strengthening, manual therapy, stretching, relaxation and external dry needling to restore mobility, strength and function to the muscles, nerves and organs causing your symptoms. We will also educate on posture, lifestyle and proper breathing techniques.
We will come to you and treat you in the privacy of your home (read more about your first visit and paperwork below)
Each appointment is 60 minutes of one-on-one time with Cinda Kult, PT, MSPT (read more about Cinda here)

Your First Visit
We know you will have questions about your first visit! Our goal is to provide transparency, complete information and availability to answer your questions. To read full information about what is involved with your first visit, click here. In brief you can expect:
To fill out a questionnaire before your first visit.
To focus on discussing what issues you are having, your general health, lifestyle and what you’ve tried in the past. We want to know what triggers your problems and also how they impact your life and relationships.
Setting goals
Collaborating on a treatment plan
Will there be an internal exam? Usually not on the first visit - and it’s 100% YOUR CHOICE whether to have an internal exam during your time in pelvic floor therapy. We will discuss with you how it might benefit both understanding your condition and how to most effectively treat your symptoms. Pelvic exams in physical therapy do NOT use stirrups or speculums.
You will provide consent before any assessment or treatment and you can change your mind at any time.
Do you accept insurance?
In order to provide you with the most comprehensive and complete care, we do not accept insurance, which can constrain the methods and time we spend with you. We are a cash-based physical therapy practice.
We believe that our model is cost-effective without insurance. You will see the same therapist each time for a full 60-minutes of treatment. You will not spend half (or more) or your time doing exercises you can do at home or receiving passive treatments that may not be moving you toward wellness. Because of this, you will likely require far fewer treatments and you will progress faster toward your journey of healing.
Some insurances will reimburse for concierge physical therapy. Please check with your provider for out-of-network physical therapy coverage as every plan is different.
