THE WHY

- From Kristen Z

For the past seven years, I’ve been closely involved with the Brother Bryan Mission Wellness program. Over that time, we’ve organized several fundraisers to provide equipment for the men at BBM — and every single time, their commitment to using that equipment has far exceeded my expectations. Recently, a number of the men have taken a growing interest in cycling. The only limitation: there simply aren’t enough bicycles available for them to participate consistently.

That need sparked the idea.

On the personal side, I once rode this same route as a mid-day century back in 2020 and swore I’d never touch it again. Since then, I’ve completed many other “LONG” rides, and I’ve quietly kept two goals on my list: ride 300 miles in a day and complete an Everesting challenge. This route happens to accomplish both.

So the plan is simple:

  • Combine a challenging personal goal with a purpose that matters.

  • Invite my cycling friends to be part of it.

  • And use this effort to help put more bikes into the hands of the men at Brother Bryan Mission.

FAQ

FAQ

  • What is the cost? Just your time. However, we would love for you to donate to the cause, or get others to sponsor your effort.

  • Where does the money go? All of it goes directly to Brother Bryan Rescue Mission and is tax deductible.

  • Will it be supported? It is only a 1 mile loop, so you will never be too far from nutrition. There will be some food, and plenty of refill options, or you can bring your own.

  • Is it a closed course? No, but traffic will be minimal in the neighborhood, and will be partially blocked at moving intersections

  • How much climbing is it? Depends on how many laps you do. Roughly 10k feet/100 miles

  • Where do I park? If you drive over, park on the cul-de-sac of Wexford Ln, 35216
